Saturday 25 February 2017
Join us for this year’s “Crossing Cultures” day on Saturday 25th February
10am to 4pm at Christ Church Westbourne, Alumhurst Road, Bournemouth, BH4 8ER
(see bottom of page for location map)
Crossing Cultures is an annual training event hosted by Friends International, and is designed to inspire and equip you to reach international students.
This year’s theme: “Words of Life: Bringing the Bible alive for international students”
We will be considering why and how we can share the precious gift of God’s Word with our international friends. We will begin our time together with a main seminar session led by Naomi Dawson. Naomi works for UCCF, she is a co-author of the Uncover range of Bible study resources, and has lots of experience of helping international students to understand God’s Word. There will also be a selection of practical workshops to help you sharpen your skills – whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced hand there will be something for you. Another set of seminars will tackle some of the objections and questions we commonly face when we open up the Bible with internationals.
This event is for anyone involved in welcoming and reaching international students, and to those interested in getting more involved.
Coffee and registration begins at 10am, with the first session beginning at 10.30am.
Light refreshments will be provided, but please bring your own lunch. There are shops and a supermarket a short walk away from the venue.

The nearest train station is Branksome, which is approximately one mile (20 minutes walk).
There is limited car parking at the church, but there is a public car park about 150 yards along (north) from the church. The car park is on Alumhurst Rd, between the Libertine pub and Westbourne Fire Station (Alumhurst Road Car Park Pay and Display, short stay car park, maximum stay 4 hours).
When coming from Wessex Way via the LV roundabout, go down The Avenue, then left up Western Rd then you come to a roundabout. Alumhurst Road is the first exit from the roundabout – the church is on the left, then the car park is a bit further along on the right. (the reason for this route is due to the Westbourne one-way system).
Longer stay car parking is available in the centre of Westbourne, at Milburn Road car park.
