Culture Course 2: Loving Liberty and Sharing Power: Monarchy, Parliament and Britain in Europe

Dinner and discussion at the home of Richard and Margaret Blake, and an opportunity to learn more about English culture, history and beliefs. A hot meal (with vegetarian options available) is followed by puddings, and then a talk from Richard.

Loving Liberty and Sharing Power: Monarchy, Parliament and Britain in Europe

An evening to explore how political power in Britain has shifted over many years to allow royal authority to be shared with an elected parliament, leaving the present Queen with no power to rule but with enormous importance as our non-political head of state. And what are British people concerned about as we come to vote on our relationship with the European Union later in June?

This event is free, but booking in advance is essential, as it is very popular, and numbers are limited. Please book a place via eventbrite.
