English History, Culture and Beliefs Course 1: England Separates from Europe – first time around!

Dinner and discussion at the home of Richard and Margaret Blake, and an opportunity to learn more about English culture, history and beliefs. A hot meal (with vegetarian options available) is followed by puddings, and then a talk from Richard.

This culture course evening looks at how England became independent and distinct from the continent of Europe, it’s closest neighbour, when Henry VIII was King.

This event is free, but booking in advance is essential, as it is very popular, and numbers are limited to 30 people.

Please book a free ticket via eventbrite.

Booking will open on 29 January.   This event is not suitable for children under 10.

Please Note: Please only book a place if you intend to come. For several of our recent events, people have booked places, and then have not attended. This has been disappointing for events where our hosts have prepared food for us in advance, and were expecting all those who had booked to attend; and it has also been disappointing for our events which have been fully booked, and where we have had other students on the waiting list for tickets who would have liked to have come.

How to Cancel an Order on Eventbrite: If you book a ticket and then find you are unable to attend, please cancel your tickets in good time (at least a day in advance) by clicking on the link in the eventbrite email.

Just log in to Eventbrite (you can do this from the link in the email), Go to the Tickets page, and locate your order. Click your order to view order details, and then select “Cancel Order” to cancel your registration. TIP: You can only cancel a free order for an upcoming event. Also, the option to cancel will only appear on a desktop computer—not on a mobile device.
