Trip to Osborne House on the Isle of Wight

Join us for a Day Trip to Osborne House, Isle of Wight,  including ferry journey to the Isle of Wight and entrance to Osborne House.. “It is impossible to imagine a prettier spot” said Queen Victoria of Osborne House, her palatial holiday home on the Isle of Wight. Visit Victoria and Albert’s private apartments, their bathing beach and children’s play-cottage for an intimate glimpse of royal family life. Then stroll through the garden terraces where the stunning views across the Solent reminded Prince Albert of the Bay of Naples.

We will enjoy the scenery as we take a journey down Southampton Water on the car ferry from Southampton to East Cowes, enjoy a leisurely walk up the hill to Osborne House and enjoy the day in the house and gardens before heading back the same way.

Children over 5 are welcome to join us on this trip, but must be able to cope with the mile long walk to and from Osborne House.

Please note, we will have a relaxed day visiting Osborne House and gardens, and the private beach, and will not be visiting anywhere else on the Isle of Wight.

Please be at the Red Funnel Ferry Ticket office, Town Quay, by 9.10am. There will be a group catching the U1C bus from Highfield Interchange at 08:28. We will then catch the ferry from Town Quay and return on the ferry arriving back in Southampton at Town Quay at 6.30pm.

Ticket Cost
Children (5-15) – £16.75
Adults (16 and over) –  £29
Students (please bring ID with you, otherwise you will have to pay adult price) –  £27.75

There is a small private beach at Osborne House that we will visit during the day.  If you want to paddle in the sea, then you may want to bring a towel (and possibly a change of clothes) with you.

You will also need to bring your bus pass or money for bus fare from Highfield Interchange to/from Town Quay (£3.50 adult day ticket and £2.50 child). Food is not included in the price, there are sandwiches etc available to buy at Osborne House but you may want to bring food with you.

Please book a place via eventbrite. Booking will open on Mon 28 May, and will close on Sun 24 June (as we then have to confirm numbers with the ferry company and with Osborne House).  Once you have bought a ticket, it is not refundable, so please only book if you are able to come.
