All day trip to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and the Dickens Christmas Festival on Saturday 1 December.
“Visitors can explore the snow-covered Dickensian streets in the awe-inspiring setting of the dockyard, which is home to the new Mary Rose Museum, HMS Victory, HMS Warrior 1860, HMS M.33, National Museum of the Royal Navy and Action Stations. Our popular Christmas Market, with its wide range of unique stalls, returns, and there will be plenty of merrymaking at Fagin’s Real Ale Tavern, as well as more Victorian characters and entertainment.”
Travel will be by train from either Winchester or Southampton Central to Portsmouth Harbour.
The train will leave Southampton Central station at 9:05 a.m. to Portsmouth Harbour. You will also need to bring money for train fare (£11.60 off peak return if buying individually, or with a discount of one third if travelling as a group of three or more with a “groupsave” ticket) . Please arrive at station (Asda / Toys R Us side, where the U1C bus stops) to sort tickets at approximately 8:30 a.m. if travelling with the group.
If travelling from Winchester, you will need to catch the 8.38 train, and change trains at Southampton central onto the 9.05 train for Portsmouth Harbour. The train cost from Winchester is £12.60.
We are sorry, but we cannot take children (under 18) on this trip.
We do not promise any real snow for this Christmassy event (some fake snow maybe), but we can almost guarantee that it will be cold on the day! Please dress warmly enough that you can queue or otherwise stand around outside places in the Dockyard without feeling too cold, as that is likely to form part of the experience.
