There are a number of other activities run for international students in Southampton.

SUCU International Café
International Cafe at Southampton University is run by students from the University Christian Union for Southampton University students.  It is a place to come and meet other international and British students, make new friends, practice your English, enjoy free tea, coffee and biscuits, and learn about British culture and customs. International cafe will restart in Autumn 2020.

Winchester School of Art Conversation Cafe
WSA Conversation Cafe is run by students from Southampton University Christian Union and Friends International volunteers.  Each week we will discuss a different topic. Conversation cafe will restart in Autumn 2020.

WUCU International
(Winchester University Christian Union) welcome international students to all their meetings, in particular their Thursday evening “Unite” evening.  See their Facebook page for more details of current events.

Solent University Christian Union welcomes people of any faith or none to any of their meetings.  See their Facebook page for more details of current events.

International Women’s Club (IWC)

The International Women’s Club, IWC, is linked to the University of Southampton, and is run by volunteers.
IWC meets on Wednesdays in term time, from 10am to 12 noon,  These meetings are friendly, relaxed and informative, with a programme of talks and demonstrations. Children are welcome but are the responsibility of the mothers at all meetings.  The group offers:

  • a social meeting place for women of all nationalities
  • help with English conversation
  • a friendly atmosphere and the chance to meet new people
  • opportunities to learn about other countries
  • information about schools, transport, health and other topics
