for international students in Southampton and Winchester

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and Dickens Christmas Festival day trip

All day trip to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and the Victorian Christmas Festival on Saturday 30 November 2019.

We will have a tour with Richard in the morning to see some of the highlights of the Historic Dockyard and then enjoy freetime in the afternoon in the Dockyard Museums, at the Christmas Festival or maybe with a visit to the nearby Gunwharf Quays shopping centre.

You can book a ticket via eventbrite Price £13.50 (plus booking fee) for students and £15.50 (plus booking fee) for adults, which includes entrance to the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and the Victorian Christmas Festival. We will have a total of 20 tickets available. (Please note, ticket price does not include train travel, which must be paid for on the day – see below)

Travel will be by train from either Winchester or Southampton Central to Portsmouth Harbour.

The train will leave Southampton Central station at 9.05 a.m. to Portsmouth Harbour. You will need to bring money for train fare (£11.90 off peak return if buying individually, or with a discount of one third if travelling as a group of three or more with a “groupsave” ticket) . Please arrive at Southampton Central Station (Platform 4 entrance, where the U1C bus stops) to sort tickets by 8:40 a.m. at the latest.

If travelling from Winchester, you will need to catch the 9.19a.m. train to Portsmouth Harbour and join the group from Southampton there. The train cost from Winchester is £13.00.

We are sorry, but we cannot take children (under 18) on this trip.

We do not promise any real snow for this Christmassy event (some fake snow maybe), but we can almost guarantee that it will be cold on the day! Please dress warmly enough that you can queue or otherwise stand around outside places in the Dockyard without feeling too cold, as that is likely to form part of the experience.
